Black Dada Officially Signs to Universal Republic

Miami, FL – In what has become breaking news amongst the fans and media outlets in the South, particularly Florida, it seems as though the originator of one of the biggest anthems to hit the nation entitled of ‘I’m A Zoe’ has officially signed with Universal Republic. The artist behind that record, Black Dada, is beginning to rise to fame ever so quickly as the days pass, especially now with a major label backing him.

Originally from Broward County, this artist wants it to be known that he represents all of South Florida when he was officially signed to Strictly Business Records alongside fellow label mate Redd Eyezz sometime last year. After several offers passed the table for Dada to choose from, he finally went with his new home at Universal Republic. With the backing of a dedicated marketing team alongside Raynello management, and SBR, Black Dada will definitely go far.

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com as a press release will be released shortly to confirm his signing.

Congratulations to Black Dada and SBR for their next tremendous achievement.

Pitbull Showcases his City of Miami

Miami, FL – Lately, Mr.305 has been on the road back to stardom as he readies the release of his next album. The city that never sleeps has always been in Pitbull’s heart as every album he has released thus far seems to bring you closer to his hood and his culture. MTV News has recently made this week Miami week calling it the ‘Renaissance City,’ now in a slew of articles with different heavyweight artists from the city, Pitbull just so happens to bring the fans and the readers on a tour showcasing the city that he loves, the city of MIA.

In this article, Pit showcases that of South Beach explaining its riches and comparing this part to that part that lies just across the bridge. These were his comments about the city that never sleeps:

“We’re on Ocean Drive, South Beach. Right there is Versace’s mansion, where he officially got [murdered], poor guy, not the brightest side of South Beach.

Being from the crib, being from Miami, this is like Hollywood for us. That’s why we always say, ‘the other side of the bridge.’ Ocean Drive can show you how broke you really are at certain points. This is for the big boys.”

As I’ve said before, Miami has always been a breeding ground for young artists to prove their lyrical skills and without question Miami has grown immensely in the music industry over the years. It gives Pit reminiscent thoughts of when he was young watching the city change from seeing execs to heavyweights flock to his city during holidays:

“It was definitely a place you could get your music out and the tradition continues. You could tell what record would be the next big record. It would officially get broken during Memorial Day weekend. All the record executives would be down here. The music business is different now. The money they was making then! The money they were spending then. You’d see Bentleys, helicopters, videos, women. It was crazy. You definitely might feed into the facade. I was 17 when all that happened. I’m 28 now.”

Pit adds that his direction in music has taken a turn for the best and his future looks quite prosperous. He explains that he is no longer an artist, but officially a business partner:

“This is the beginning of Pitbull, this is my chance. I’m in the major league now. I’ve cut a deal, partnered up with a major label, which is Sony through Polo Grounds/ Mr. 305 Inc. I’ve also partnered up with Sony Latin for a deal [for an album] in Spanish. I’m no longer an artist, I’m a business partner. I’m in business with these folks. I’ve always been independent, but I’ve created this foundation and fanbase.

Now I’m working with producers, I get a chance to work with Jim Jonsin. Obviously I’m gonna be in with Lil Jon the Diaz Brothers, the Neptunes, Play-N-Skillz. The list goes on. I can create this music where I can make [the album like a] Now! hits record. I’m not just throwing a record out there to make sure we stay relevant in the game like I was doing on TVT. I’m excited. I finally get a chance to hit one out the park. I’mma make sure it’s a grand slam. This is the one right here. It’s gonna be that one with God’s help, obviously.”

Pitbull’s music has always been semi-political, especially when it came down to his country of Cuba, his album titles explains it all. This time around isn’t any different as the title of his fifth studio album seems to follow a pattern after his recent release ‘The Boatlift.’ ‘Rebelution’ has been set to be released sometime this summer.

DJ Khaled Achieves ‘Victory’ Discusses Accomplishments and Jay-Z

Miami, FL – Continuing in MTV’s Miami week, DJ Khaled was apparently their next target as one of the heavyweights that flocks the city. It is evident that Khaled has been holding down Miami since the beginning of the 2000 era. And since then, he has done literally almost everything from DJing, marketing, promoting, A&R, producing, managing, cutting checks, and dropping studio albums yearly.

Khaled recently gave a tour of his We the Best Studios to MTV News during their visit to the city. These were his comments:

Welcome to We the Best Studios, the house of hits — the house of vibes. It’s a little crazy in here, but come on, check it out. I’m gonna give you, like, a quick tour … of course we got some of our wins on the wall.”

Khaled quickly began his tour with a slew of plaques and awards that were posted on his wall in the studio. He explained each of them as they were pointed out:

“Right here — XXL cover, with me, Rick Ross, Flo [Rida] and Trina, that was big for Florida. Shout-out to all the DJs … I gotta show you some DJ plaques. Mix Show DJ of the Year, from the Sixth Annual Puerto Rico Power Summit. I got a few of these. I won five in a row. Of course, you got other wins up in here too. Shout-out to Funk Master Flex — he’s definitely one of the guys that inspired me to make albums too. He’s got that gold plaque right there.”

It seems as though Khaled’s biggest record to date would be that of ‘We the Best’ as he points proudly to plaque placed on his wall showcasing the huge success of ‘We Takin’ Over:’

Of course, this is big for me right here. ‘We Taking Over’ — you know what I’m saying. It went gold. That was a big accomplishment for me; my life changed after that record dropped. And shout-out to everybody on the record — you feel me. I can go on for days with plaques. … Now this record right here, ‘I’m So Hood,’ a million and 500 thousand singles sold … a million ringtones. It’s a movie. It’s a big, big accomplishment for me.”

And regardless of all the plaques on his wall and the accomplishments that he has made over the years, apparently he is still humbled by the quick shout out given to him by icon Jay-Z on his recent track ‘Death of Auto-Tune:’

“To get a co-sign from a legend like that is big. He said my name, ‘We the best!’ It brought a tear to my eye.”

At press time, Khaled’s first artist off of ‘We the Best,’ Ace Hood, will drop his sophomore album ‘Ruthless’ on June 30. Khaled himself will also be dropping his next album as he has been doing so since 2006. His fourth album has been simply titled ‘Victory’ and has been set to be released sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009. Be on the lookout for another album with a plethora of heavyweight artists to feature on the album.
