Blender Magazine, one of the most read and respected music mags in the biz, has named one of Hip Hop’s biggest icons as nothing more than an overrated, self indulgent, conspirator. 2Pac Shakur, one of the games biggest sellers and most respected icons in music history has been labeled as an artist who filled his albums with “self-mythologizing, mediocre filler.”, according to Blender Magazine.

The claim comes as part of a series Blender is running titled “Places, trends and other junk in rock,” in which they call out artists, and other forms of media entertainment which they feel has run its course. Tupac tops the list at #1, being followed by other such artists and entities such as Pink and the entire Grammy Awards. There has been no statement yet made by Pac’s surviving mother Afheni or his estate as to how they feel to Pac’s placement on the list.

Blender magazine will run the article in it’s October issue which should be hitting the stands within the next week. I personally expect their offices to be burned down by all the Tupac freaks out there before the issue ever sees the light of day, but that’s just my forecast. How far off do you think Blender is with this statement though? Do you still think Pac holds his place after all the incredible music this new generation has been making?
