She plays a pot-smoking teacher in her upcoming film Bad Teacher.

And it seems Cameron Diaz didn’t need to do much research for her role, revealing she has dabbled in the drug in the past. Appearing on Lopez Tonight yesterday, the actress claimed she bought marijuana in high school – from none other than Snoop Dogg.

Speaking about the 39-year-old rapper, whose fondness for the drug has been well documented over the years, Diaz said: ‘We went to high school together, he was a year older than me.’

He was very tall and skinny and wore lots of ponytails in his hair and I’m pretty sure I got weed from him. I had to have!’

Referring to an earlier conversation about her environmentally-friendly Prius, Diaz joked: ‘I was green even in high school!’ The 38-year-old told host George Lopez that it was her early ‘claim to fame,’ before making a name for herself.

Both Snoop Dogg, real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus, and Diaz attended school in Long Beach, California. The Shrek star, appeared on the show to promote her new action film The Green Hornet in theaters now
