A year after Cam’ron was shot in Washington, D.C., the investigation
may be suspended due to the rapper’s lack of cooperation with the authorities.

Cam (born Cameron Giles) was shot in D.C. during Homecoming Weekend on October
23rd of last year. Reports then spread that Cam was shot in a failed robbery
of his 2006 Lamborghini. At the time, authorities questioned whether the car
jacking was truly the shooter’s motives while rumors have persisted that the
incident was a publicity stunt to boost Killer’s street credibility.

Not much progress has been done since then. No one has been arrested. Sgt.
Joe Gentile says the case is still open, but with no news to report. Meanwhile,
Cam hasn’t return phone calls or come to D.C. to help in the probe. Diane Groomes
of the 1st Police District, said the investigation seems to have been suspended.
"I believe it did get suspended because he never wanted to testify at the
grand jury. He never came back to give a statement," Groomes told The Washington
Post.

Last week, Cam responded to questions via e-mail, stating that he’s moving
on. Though the bullets have now been removed from his arm, Cam said he still
can’t move a few of his fingers. In the email, he also voiced his lack of belief
in police investigations, mainly due to the unsolved killings of The
Notorious B.I.G.
and Tupac Shakur. "It’s their
job to solve the crime-not mine," Cam wrote in the email. When asked on
whether the shooting was a publicity stunt, Cam replied, "You people couldn’t
possibly be that stupid."
