New York, NY – Cam’ron recently did an interview with Hot 97 personalities DJ Cipha Sounds & Peter Rosenberg stating that he was the original writer for Cease A Leo’s (Lil Cease) rhyme on Lil Kim’s “Crush on You” song.  Lil Cease admitted recently on Spotlight, XXL’s UStream show that he did not write his own rhymes.  The late Biggie Smalls wrote many of his rhymes as well as Cam’ron for the “Crush on You” joint.

Here’s what Killa Cam had to say. “What happened was, [Untertainment CEO Lance] Un [Rivera] gave Mase $30,000 to write five songs for Lil’ Cease at that time and Mase gave me $5,000 of the 30 to write one or two of the songs,” he said. “I wrote the ‘Crush on You’ song and they ended up keeping it for Lil’ Kim album, but it was really for Lil’ Cease. The original ‘Crush on You’ is all Lil’ Cease, Lil’ Kim isn’t even on the record.”

Dating back at the time of the record, Cam’ron had no record deal, he was paid $5,000 upfront and never received any residuals after the song became a hit gaining much success. Ouch Cam!!!  So from then (1996) till now (April 2011) no one knew Cam’ron was the original writer for the “Crush on You” track. Big ups to you Cam, that record was a HIT!!!!!
