Philly rapper Cassidy has signed on as the first artist under NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony’s new record label, Krossover Entertainment. Cassidy has been pretty quiet lately, I guess now I know why, because he didn’t have a deal. He has been working on his new album Language Arts, which will feature rappers like Rick Ross, Cool & Dre, Jadakiss, Gorilla Zoe, Raheem Devaughn and Cassidy’s Runnin Mates family. Language Arts will be the first release on Krossover Entertainment, followed by the debut from
The NBA legend Anthony says he wants his label to follow the path of the greats and be a long lasting foundation that can help usher in the new music of today. “Krossover Entertainment is positioned to experience immediate growth in the mainstream entertainment industry by assembling a high powered team of management professionals and industry tastemakers,” Anthony told 24Hour about his long-term vision for the label.
The second artist on the label, Berg, has a new mixtape coming out titled 800 Bodies, which he says will debut his alter ego, Diego Ca$h. “This mix tape shows the transformation of Berg into Diego Ca$h, and displays my lyrical growth and dedication to [the] genre of music that raised me into a rapper,” explained Berg about the project. There is no set release date for Language Arts or a full debut from Berg as of press time.
