Crunk & B princess Ciara topped all nominees with five nods, including Artist of the Year. Ciara will face West, Legend, 50 and Carey, who all have four nominations, in the Artist of the Year category.

The Louis Vutton Don’s Late Registration will compete against Legend’s Get Lifted, The Game’s The Documentary, Carey’s The Emancipation of Mimi and Lil’ Kim’s Naked Truth for Album of the Year. Meanwhile, West, 50, Game and T.I. are nominated for Best Rapper. This year, the Vibe Awards will continue with its unique categories by honoring the Reelest Video, Video Goddess and Street Anthem.

Vibe hopes this year’s event remains drama-free. Last year, Jimmy James Johnson pretended to ask Dr. Dre for an autograph only to sucker punch the super-producer. The attack took place only minutes before Dre was slated to receive a lifetime achievement award. The altercation caused a massive chair-throwing brawl in which G-Unit’s Young Buck allegedly stabbed Johnson. Last month, Johnson was sentenced to serve one year in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting the mogul.

The 3rd annual Vibe Awards are scheduled to be taped November 12th in Los Angeles and air November 15th at 8 p.m. (EST) on UPN.
