According to the Detroit Free Press, Gerald Rosic Gadie, who drove Proof to hospital after he was shot in the head at a Detroit nightclub in April , was found shot to death in the basement of his home on May 27th. Authorities said Gadie was killed in a dispute over 20 pounds of marijuana and $7,000 that was stolen from him.

The two suspects, John Henry Williams II and Corey Frazier, were both charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during a felony. David Braxton, Williams’ attorney, said his client had no criminal record and that the case against him was largely based on statements Frazier had made to police.

Frazier had no legal representation during his arraignment. Both men remain held without bond, pending a June 30 preliminary examination.
