In his first TV interview, Dave Chappelle, who’s been doing stand-up gigs around the country, will appear on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ this Friday, February 3. According to the show’s Web site, “he was the hottest comedian in the country (and) then he mysteriously disappeared.”
So Chappelle can expect to address and maybe even answer a million little questions: Why did he go, and where, and what happened, and … will he return? Could he also explain the “Conspiracy” that was reported here back in December.

Chappelle also has an appearance on Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio. The taped interview with James Lipton will air Feb. 12, according to the program’s Web site.

In related news, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party will open in theaters Mar. 3. The movie was shot in Brooklyn, New York in 2004 and is produced by Rogue Pictures. It features new stand-up material by Chappelle and exclusive performances by Kanye West, The Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Wyclef, Kool G. Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Lauryn Hill and others. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michel Gondry directed the film, which is Rated R.
