Miami, FL. – Lately DMX’s legal woes continue to burden the once influential platinum selling artist. In the latest string of apprehensions DMX has experienced, the more recent one has landed him in a Miami-Dade County Jail detaining him for at least a month.
As we are all aware, the ex-Ruff Ryder has been out on bond pending several different charges in Arizona all dating back to August of last year. Recently, he was arrested outside of a North Dade Wal-Mart earlier this month for failing to appear in court in Arizona for a date specified to him. The interesting story behind this was his anger and attitude he portrayed in the Miami-Dade Courtroom at the time of his extradition hearing. When Judge Lawrence Schwartz informed him that he will be spending a month in the county jail and will return to court on October 3 for another hearing, he blatantly replied, ‘I ain’t coming back here on fucking October 3rd’ directing his anger and response towards the judge. A shackled DMX then quickly turned around and walked away. Schwartz then turned to X’s lawyer and responded with this:
“Oh, that just ingratiated you to me — I’ve never heard the F-word
before. You need to tell
your client that I’ve heard the F-word before. He can send it to me
anytime he wants to come in, if that’s what makes him happy, but he
certainly didn’t help his stature any with what he mumbled as he left
the podium.”
At press time, DMX pleaded guilty on Wednesday, August 27th to his Florida charges of attempted purchase of marijuana and cocaine and was sentenced to time served and a $483 court fine. His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, told MTV News that if the case had gone to trial he would have been facing six years.
