Dr. Dre’s Son’s Cause of Death Confirmed
Los Angeles, CA – In August of 2008, the son of West Coast mega producer, Dr. Dre, was found dead in the early morning hours of August 20 by his mother. At the time, his cause of death wasn’t confirmed, but the Los Angeles police ruled that there wasn’t any foul play involved in his death.
Apparently, the autopsy reports have been issued and the cause of death of Andre Young, Jr. has been confirmed. According to the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, Young died of an overdose of heroin and morphine. Coroner spokesperson, Larry Dietz spoke to People magazine and left the statement: “This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication.” Those drug test results have been pending for the past four months after his death.
At press time, Dr. Dre has yet to release statement concerning his son’s cause of death. He continues to work on Eminem’s next studio LP, ‘Relapse’.
The Hudson Family Murderer, William Balfour, Indicted
Chicago, IL – In the ongoing trial of the brutal murders of Oscar award-winning Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew, the prime suspect in custody has been indicted on three counts of murder and one count of home invasion this past Tuesday, all according to CNN.
William Balfour has been held in custody since the October shootings. Earlier this week, Balfour was indicted by a grand jury before the case could even go to trial. He has since pleaded not guilty and denied all charges against him. His defense attorney, Joshua Kutnick, is arguing that there is no forensic evidence that can link him to the crimes. Kutnick has also requested that Balfour be moved to the Cook County correctional facilities so that the communication between attorney and client is much easier.
These are comments that Kutnick left the media:
“The police believe it is William Balfour, but the problem is what they have done. They find their suspect and build evidence around the suspect. That’s not the way it should work. They should gather evidence, and it should lead to a suspect. This was the convenient person to go to. It is bolstered by the fact that it took them so long to get him arrested and charged.”
Jennifer Hudson has kept out of the public eye since the tragic events, but plans on going back to work as soon as she can get back on her feet.
Jennifer Hudson Set to Perform at Obama’s Inauguration
Chicago, IL – After the tragic events that Jennifer Hudson has experienced towards the end of 2008 probably the only positive turnabout that occurred for her was Barack Obama becoming President of the U.S. As a native of Chicago, Obama was the Senator of her state, it is only natural she should take a positive outlook.
Well, there has been news that the artist nominated for four Grammys this year will perform at Obama’s Inauguration on January 20. This will probably be the most watched political event of 2009 thus far. She has been set to sing our nation’s national anthem The Star-Spangled Banner, as she did so during the Democratic National Convention in Denver sometime last August. Sources close to her are saying that she might make the event and not miss this opportunity regardless of the fact that she has canceled many video shoots and performances in the past months.
At press time, it has not been confirmed if Jennifer took Beyonce’s spot at the Inauguration, but rumors have been circulating that Obama’s staff chose Jennifer over Beyonce. Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for updated news on this developing cover story.
