Canadian emcee Drake cancelled his show over the weekend after a sudden death in the family. According TMZ.com, Drake's uncle has tragically passed away, causing Drake to officially cease Saturday’s show in Orlando, Florida as part of Universal Studios’ Summer Concert Series as the final act. Reports continue to say that there will not be a replacement for Saturday’s performance nor have officials announced a makeup date and even if there will be.

Drake and his representatives apologized to fans in a written statement and thanked the officials at Universal as well.

“We regret to announce that Drake will not be able to take the stage at Universal Orlando Resort due to a death in the family. He hopes that his fans understand the situation he finds himself in and know that he fully intends to return to the area in the future. He thanks Universal Orlando Resort and his fans for their continued support,” read the statement.

Within the Young Money camp, Drake isn’t the only artist in the crew to suffer a death of a relative. YMCMB Femcee Nicki Minaj and her family are still dealing with the loss of her cousin Nicholas Telemaque, who was murdered by gunfire in Brooklyn, New York on July 4; He was only 27. Nicki Minaj addressed her cousin’s murder via her Twitter account, continuing to tour with Britney Spears on the Femme Fatale tour.
