“It’s a song about being away from what you love and hoping that when you’re gone, doing you, somebody out there misses you. It goes for Wayne in his situation and it goes for me in my situation, ’cause I’m on the road for I don’t how long right now.”

-Rap superstar Drake, talking exclusively to MTV News about the song “Miss Me.” The track is a collaboration between the Canadian phenom and label boss Lil Wayne that will appear on Drake’s debut album Thank Me Later (which is scheduled to hit stores June 15). Drake, who calls the tune “pretty straightforward,” spoke to MTV News just before the first date on his Home Away From Home tour in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

Drake also took the time to clear up some confusion surrounding the song “Afrika Bambaataa,” a song that Lil Wayne referenced before he went off to jail. According to the “Nino Brown: The Road to Rikers” DVD, Weezy said he had shot a video for Drake for that track. But Drake said the tune actually belongs to his boss. “That’s actually a Lil Wayne song,” he explained. “I don’t know where that confusion came from. I was just on set that day when he was shooting that video. That’s not even my song. I’m not even on it, to be honest with you.”

Drake will remain on tour for the next six weeks and will include stops at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the annual Bamboozle festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey.-MTV
