New Orleans, LA – As the ‘I Am Music II’ tour continues to make it’s rounds all across North America, their recent stop in New Orleans provided some huge surprises for a city that Lil Wayne calls home. During their stop in New Orleans, Wayne performed for a crowd of his people and brought out guest appearances: Young Money’s Drake and New Orleans Hornets’ Chris Paul.

While backstage at the show, Drake and Nicki Minaj got a chance to catch up on things while she was on tour in North America and he was tour in Europe, as a matter of fact, they even intertwined when MTV News sat them both down. Interestingly enough, they let Sway sit back and relax while they role played journalists and interviewed each other.

So, Drake first question, while acting like an excited fan/journalist, inquired about Nicki’s peak moment while onstage:

Nicki then responded:

“You want to know what, Drizzy? I really love busting out from underneath the floor doing ‘Roman’s Revenge. When I say, ‘I’ll kick that ho, punt!’ When I say, ‘Bitch, if you ain’t shittin’ then get off the pot,’ we really connect.”

Drake continued with his questionnaire and asked her when we would be hearing new material from her.

Nicki humbly answered:

“Well, you know, Drizzy, I have been keeping everything sort of stored inside of me, so I’m just in complete tour mode. Yeah, I’ve been getting a lot of requests to do some features, but if I can’t give myself wholeheartedly, I always pass. I definitely never want to be just doing too many features that they start getting watered-down and I’m not giving my whole, true self.”

Drake added his final question going in on whether or not she would time to add a couple bars to his upcoming album ‘Take Care.’ Nicki responded jokingly that she would have to check and see if the availability was there.

After that, the interviewer to interviewee then switched hands as Nicki then took the helm of journalist beginning with her set of inquiries. Her first question was what it was like to be back with his “family” (Young Money) after he completed his tour in the U.K.

Drake gave his full answer:

“I truly enjoy these moments, especially being in New Orleans. Actually, New Orleans was the first place that I ever really realized that my music was getting out there. I remember walking outside the W [hotel], and there was a guy out there selling mixtapes and he had So Far Gone. I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t even mad. You usually think you’ll be mad when there’s a bootlegger, but I was super excited.”

Nicki then went in on his latest style with the curly hair afro and the beard, Drake gave his answer stating that, it was, at first for a movie that he was casted for entitled ‘Arbitage’ which will star veteran actors Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon. He decided to keep the look while declining the movie and decided to work on his album instead.

While both Drake and Nicki were trading pars with each other, you definitely sense the interesting chemistry they have amongst each other, while the whole time Sway takes a backseat and watches the two go back and forth.
