Enthusiastic Aubrey O’Day Discusses her Upcoming Playboy Spread
New York, NY – In November of last year, ex-Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day made headlines when news surfaced that she was to pose for the world’s top-selling gentlemen’s magazine, Playboy. O’Day hasn’t spoken on the decision or the spread since November, but she has now chosen to come out of the shadows.
MTV News recently interviewed O’Day on her upcoming Playboy spread. The interview got in depth on the whole situation and how she felt about the whole experience.
“You could never imagine how empowering it is to be nude in front of cameras and have people looking at you in that way and seeing you as beautiful. You’re seeing yourself as beautiful. I mean, a lot of the times I think I’m seen as a bad girl, and I think that’s because I’m so open.”
She omitted that the only way she was do the spread was if renowned photographer Markus Klinko took the project on. She basically chose Klinko because of his past work with Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and Pamela Anderson. O’Day believed that with Klinko’s vision and expertise, her spread would be a memorable experience.
“I only agreed to do it because [Klinko] was shooting it, he is unbelievably amazing. He agreed with me that we needed to do something classy, iconic and truly beautiful. I mean, I think a lot of the type of way I’m portrayed in the media isn’t always the way I am in my heart. And I think that we were able to capture that with [this shoot]. It’s going to be very elegant, very iconic. We wanted to do something very beautiful and classic. And I’m very excited about, just in general, how liberating the shoot was and how great it’s going to be to express myself and be comfortable with my sexuality. I think in society we tend to put ourselves in boxes and corners and restrict ourselves, and we constantly feel the need to not say this or not wear this and taking it all off and being nude is the most natural state that you can be in.”
MTV continued to question what she thought about the criticism she would endure after the spread is released, her answer was she simply doesn’t care and or really have to listen to them.
“I’m always gonna be true, whether people like it or not. I’m just gonna be me. I’m gonna be real. I’m not gonna do anything because people want me to. I’m not gonna hide something about me. I think people are scared to be who they are, and if anybody’s gonna go out there and let everybody know, ‘Be who you are, no judgment here,’ it’s gonna be me.”
At press time, her issue of Playboy is set to hit newsstand this Friday (February 13). She will grace the cover for the March edition of the gentlemen’s magazine.
Tameka Foster-Raymond in Stable Condition after Illness
Sao Paulo, Brazil – Sometime over the course of this passing weekend, news surfaced across the net and to media outlets that Usher’s wife Tameka Foster-Raymond fell seriously ill after complications with her plastic surgery procedure in Brazil. Her sudden illness caused Usher to miss a Grammy appearance at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala in Los Angeles last Sunday (February 8).
According to E! Online, Foster fell into a coma after complications with her completed liposuction procedure occurred. She was immediately rushed to Sao Paulo’s Sirio-Libanes Hospital after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest. R&B vocalist Usher was by her side the entire time. World renowned Beverly Hills Surgeon, Dr. Payman Simoni states that her sudden fall into comatose was caused by complications with general anesthesia.
This was Dr. Simoni official medical statement to E! Online:
“While I have not treated Usher’s wife, in my opinion, the reported need for a neurosurgeon strongly suggests complications relating to general anesthesia, which can include stroke, hypoxic brain injury, and intracranial bleeding.”
Usher’s publicist recently commented on Foster’s condition to the media sometime over the course of the week:
“She (Foster) is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil. Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital.”
At press time, Usher has yet to speak to the media directly about his wife’s illness as reports state that she is in recovery at Sao Paulo’s Sirio-Libanes Hospital until her official release.
R. Kelly to Leave Next Album Untitled
Atlanta, GA – It was reported worldwide sometime last year even before he was to stand trial for his child pornography charge, that R&B vocalist R. Kelly’s next studio album would be entitled ‘12 Play: Fourth Quarter.’ That album was supposedly set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2008, but as we all know that never happened. Now Kellz has recently relayed some news to the media and his fans that his next album shall not have a title, expect under the pretense ‘Untitled.’
The Chi-Town native was recently in the A-Town last Sunday night (February 8) while many of his fellow industry brethren were at Grammy’s; he chose to do his partying at ATL’s infamous Velvet Room, while at the same time do some recording with heavyweight producer, Jazze Pha. Kellz made his presence felt at the club as he got on stage to reveal the news in very few choice words to his fans inside the club.
“ATL, what’s up? I got my little brother right here, Jazze Pha. I’m out here working on the muthafuckin’ album. I’m working on a new album and I’m calling that muthafucka Untitled. Y’all call it what y’all want.”
The DJ holding down the music at the booth in the Velvet Room that night was none other than DJ Infamous, he told the media the reaction that Kellz received as soon as he graced the VIP section of the club.
“When R. Kelly walked into the VIP section, the ladies went crazy! All you heard was ladies screamin’ in the club and cameras going off. I immediately stopped the music and announced he was in the building.”
At press time, Jive has yet to comment on Kelly’s next release nor have they secured an official release date for his ‘Untitled’ album. As of now the confirmation of that non-title is still up in the air.
