About a month ago, Fat Joe was rumored to be leaving Atlantic Records for a new agreement with the Virgin Records family. According to the press release put out by EMI/Virgin, Fat Joe’s Terror Squad label has tapped Imperial Records, a label development unit that is part of EMI’s Caroline Distribution, to support the marketing and promotion of the release, while EMI/Virgin will be responsible for the worldwide distribution of Me, Myself & I. This agreement will allow Fat Joe to operate independently while still enjoying support from EMI/Virgin.

“Terror Squad Entertainment is so happy to be in the independent world right now and we’re going to do amazing things. We are excited to be working with Neil Levine, Imperial, Caroline and the Virgin family. I am so happy to be in control of my career,” Fat Joe said via statement.

This seventh album from Fat Joe includes appearances from The Game and Lil’ Wayne as well as production from heavy hitters Scott Storch, DJ Khaled, The Runners, LV and Nu Jerzy Devil. Storch produced the album’s first single, “Make It Rain.”

“I am very happy about the opportunity to be able to help launch such an important project with Terror Squad, Caroline and Virgin Records. I think this will be a major album to set the tone for the type of quality music that Imperial is going to stand behind and an important front runner as an example of the great working relationship that Imperial, Caroline and Virgin, EMI will have with each other,” Neil Levine, General Manager and Senior VP of Imperial Records said, also via statement.

Me, Myself & I is scheduled to be released Fall of 2006, however an actual release date has not yet been determined.
