South Beach, FL. – Over a year has passed since Miami based artist Flo Rida skyrocketed to superstardom. Several months after the release of his most anticipated debut album, ‘Mail on Sunday,’ fans are still indulging in his music waiting for more new material, which he is currently working on. And one year later we celebrate this talented artist’s birthday from a different side of the spectrum. This past Sunday night, another South Beach hotspot, Cameo, hosted the grand event for the ‘Low’ originator.
Flo Rida’s birthday bash was hosted by his own Poe Boy Music Group with the assistance of Cameo for the venue. I have to be quite honest; this event was major, talk about a massive turnout. Fans gathered at the front of the venue as early as 11pm, the banner in the front read ‘Flo Rida’s B-Day Bash with performances by Rick Ross and Brisco.’ It was obvious the fans were excited to attend this star studded event. Celebrities in attendance included Rick Ross, Brisco, Billy Blue, Triple Cs, Ace Hood, DJ Khaled, E-Class, Big Chuck, Ballgreezy, Bizzle, Webbz, Unda Surveillance, Figgie McKnight, and Montana Tucker. Interestingly enough, co-star from the HBO crime series, ‘The Wire,’ Felecia ‘Snoop’ Pearson also made an appearance.
The performances began quite sudden as fans were still filling in. As soon as Ace Hood arrived to the club, he quickly hit the stage and began performing for a crowd of excited fans. Khaled joined Ace has his debut single Cash Flow electrified the speakers as the crowd flooded the stage. As soon as Ace completed his last verse, Ross quickly omitted his verse from behind the DJ booth. Soon after, the whole Poe Boy roster filled the stage alongside both Khaled and Ace. Ace continued to perform his singles which included ‘Ride’ and ‘I Don’t See Ya’ll’ which also featured Brisco. After the completion of Ace’s session, it quickly transcended into Brisco’s time to shut down the stage. He performed his hit singles, ‘Bitch, I’m Me’ and ‘Just Know Dat’ with Flo Rida, his twin, by his side. That then transcended into a set with North Miami, Poe Boy new signee, Billy Blue, as he provided a spectacular show performing his own set of hits, ‘Ball Like Dog’ and ‘Get Like Me.’ Even the Boss, himself, performed his set of hits for his own excited fans. Before Flo was to perform his grand finale, Miami locals Webbz, Bizzle, and Unda Surveillance also graced the stage making their presence felt. Towards the closing of the night, the headliner of the event, Flo Rida, ended the night with a smash performing some new joints and his hit single, Elevator.
All in all, it was a great night for both the artists and the fans. I’m sure the fans enjoyed the up close interaction with all the Poe Boy artists. It is quite evident that no matter what venue Poe Boy happens to grace, they always seem to shut down the whole event period.
Special thanks to Gucci Pucci and Melissa Sessoms for always allowing 24hourhiphop.com entrance and VIP status.
