R&B singer Rell was one of three people arrested Wednesday
(March 28) in connection with a shipment of 50 pounds of marijuana to a residence
in South Carolina.

According to The Times And Democrat, the U.S. Postal Service alerted Calhoun
County officials of a parcel destined to a Burke Road residence which contained
two plastic containers filled with marijuana. The authorities then made a controlled
delivery of the parcel to the house and when the homeowner accepted it, he was
immediately taken into custody along with his cohorts. "This is yet another
major blow that we have dealt the people who choose to deal drugs in our county,"
Sheriff Thomas Summers told The Times And Democrat.

Rell (born Wilbur Gaddis) was charged with conspiracy to traffic in marijuana.
The homeowner, 33-year-old Kendrick Rodriguez, was charged with trafficking
marijuana. Demetrice Hart, 32, of Norway, was charged with conspiracy to traffic
in marijuana and simple possession of marijuana. All the aforementioned indivualas
are currently being housed in the Orangeburg-Calhoun Detention Center, where
they are awaiting a bond hearing.

Rell begun his career on Roc-A-Fella Records in the late 90’s
and is presently signed to Damon Dash’s Music Group. The 30-year-old
vocalist has collaborated with Jay-Z, Jim Jones and Beanie
Sigel
, among others.
