Port Au Prince, HT – Over weekend, reports were swarming through the media and the net that former Fugees member, Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand while in Haiti supporting the presidential elections. Pras confirmed the news on his twitter, but had said that Jean was doing fine.

Sometime around 11:00pm, Jean stated that he stepped out of the car to make a phone call and a gunman took a shot at him glazing his right hand in the city of Delmas, near the capital of Port Au Prince. Jean was quoted stating that, “I heard a blow, blow, blow and I just looked at my hand.”

After initial investigation and upon the release of medical reports, Haitian authorities dismissed the gunshot claim and concluded that Jean hand was a cut from a shard of glass.

According to the Daily Mail, Police Chief Vanel Lacroix stated that:

“We met with the doctor who saw him and he confirmed Wyclef was cut by glass.”

Jean’s management has confirmed that he has recovered from the hand wound.

At press time, Jean states that he does know who the gunman was or if the shots were meant for him.
