305djs: How long have you been rapping?

Hennessi: I’ve been making music now for a good 10 years now.

305djs: What made you want to get into music?

Hennessi: As far as growing up, besides the ni**as in the hood and shit like that, you got the dope boys and robbers and everybody else getting money. But when you go home, you have Video Mix, MTV YO Raps and it was the rappers and sh*t like that, that motivated a ni**a to do big things. If a ni**a wasn’t in the street, like a ni**a was always bullsh*tting putting raps together. Then I started going to jail and [writing raps] was nothing to do. That’s all I had to do, read and write, so I got on my grind.

305djs: Who were some of your influences?

Hennessi: Scarface first and foremost. I like Ice Cube a lot. All the ni**as in my hood. Keno, God bless the dead. My big brother D. A lot ni**as who was doing a lot of major things around my way.

305djs: Is SouthSide Bombers the first label you signed with?

Hennessi: Yea definitely. First and its family. Not just a label, it’s a family over here. My brother Dirt owns the SouthSide Bombers. Its real family oriented. It’s love. Ni**as eat and live together.

305djs: Being independent, what are you trying to do with the label?

Hennessi: We already had a few offers on the table with independent distribution companies but we’re trying to go major. With the whole Miami Movement, and even before it was poppin like that, being from Miami Dade County, where ever you from, you feel like your going to pop off no matter what. We definitely trying to go major. We got that potential. I know I got that potential.

305djs: Are you working on your album?

Hennessi: Definitely. The whole album is more or less my sh*t. On my album, with features it’s my clique, SouthSide Bombers. I’m still trying to find some singers I want to f**k with if and when I get the chance. As far a covering the grounds, it going to be mostly me. I don’t really want to go out, like a lot of dudes, and get a whole bunch of ni**as. As far as my debut release, I want it to be me. I want m*therf**kers to be like ‘oh yea he carried his own sh*t’ with the help of production from FreeBase.

305djs: Are you working with any other producers?

Hennessi: I’m definitely trying to reach out to Mannie Fresh sooner or later. I got a joint from Red Spyda, Stevie J. I got a few joints from Stevie J. Stevie J used to produce for Bad Boy, a lot of Biggie joints. So just keeping it real in-house. You know how it is when your independent trying to do major things and not really trying to go out and spend a lot of money so we just trying to work with what we got. Like I say, a ni**a make hits.

305djs: You just shot the video for "Get Ya Money." Is that a street single or your first single?

Hennessi: Naw. That’s definitely the street cut. Big shout out to my ni**a Brisco. We did that just for the streets and I’m starting to get that out there right now. Big shout out to Tom too, I don’t know him but big shout out to you and that myspace sh*t. It’s a good marketing tool. My ni**a Brisco from the hood, from Opa-Locka. We came together and put our minds together and said this is what we gonna do for the hood and not just for the hood of Opa-Locka, but Miami as a whole to let them know, you do got Rick Ross and Dre and Khaled and all these other dudes on the forefront and ni**as fuck with them. But at the same time, you do got the underdogs like me Hennessi and ni**as like Brisco. That’s what that was for.

305djs: What other goals do you have as an artist?

Hennessi: We got the ‘Ice Walk’ jumping off. We keep it real business oriented. As far as being an artist, keep my writing shit up to par, I write great music as far as an artist. Being able to get that major distribution and then be able to come back to the hood and show m*therf**kers it still is what it is. I just want to prosper cause a ni**a be on his grind for so long hustlin, in and out of bullsh*t and sometimes it doesn’t pay off. I’m trying to make it pay off.

305djs: What else are you trying to get into outside of music like movies or clothing?

Hennessi: [Chris] Larceny is doing the ‘Hustler’s World’ film staring Rick Ross and a lot of other dudes out of Miami. He guaranteed me a part in that, so I’m looking forward to a few acting gigs. First and foremost, I definitely want to get grounded as an artist within the game so I can be respected as that. I don’t want to be labeled as no actor or rapper. My whole sh*t is taking it how I live it. If a ni**a getting head or a ni**a slung this or a ni**a blinging like that or shining like that, its all for real.

305djs: Is there anything you want to promote?

Hennessi: Ice Walk. Get you a pair. All you ni**as talking about you doing it real major, if you don’t have ice in your shoes, then your not. Hennessi and SouthSide Bombers doing it real major sh*t this year and the years to come. Big shout out to Poe Boy and DJ Khaled. Go get that album, I’m on the last track on the album. Hennessi, the Golden Child. F**k with me. Holla.
