A Harlem hip-hop artist and rap promoter was killed in an accident yesterday morning on the George Washington Bridge. Huddy Combs, also known as Andre Hudson and Huddy 6, 33, was in a car on the NJ-bound side of the bridge when it collided with a tractor-trailer around 5:15 a.m. he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s unclear what caused the accident, which caused delays and closed down the upper level of the westbound GW Bridge until 9:15 a.m. CityRoom reported, “Mr. Hudson worked as a party promoter mostly, but also had worked behind the scenes with local D.J.’s and rap groups. He was at the foundation of the Harlem World movement, anchored by the rapper Mase and a slew Harlem rappers who appeared on Mase’s multi-platinum CD, Harlem World, released in 1997.”

There were also many Tweets from rappers mourning the loss; Juelz Santana said, “A! R.I.P. HUDDY 6 @hud6 SMFH if u don’t or didn’t know who he was jus know this, he was HARLEM!!!!”
