Hollywood heavyweight, and also pretty good rapper, Ice Cube has signed on with NBC to produce a new comedy show for the network. The show is to be about of all things, cops! Mr. Fuck the Police inked a deal with NBC and his production company Cube Vision to bring the show to the network. The show is described as a sitcom which sheds a funny light on the interpolitics and relationships in the police world.

Ben Silverman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios chairman said that the network looks to capitalize off the mass appeal and hard work Cube has put in over the years. “As we continue to expand our roster of diverse talent both on-camera and behind the camera, a guy like Ice Cube, who’s multi-talented, is someone we really wanted to be in business with,” said Ben. “He’s had an amazing career, to have gone from NWA to this.”

Although the title of the show is still unknown Silverman says he wants Cube to be involved as much as possible both on and off the screen. “We really want to capture his voice and his eye for talent, and his producing acumen. If he appeared in the pilot or series, we’d be really excited about that.” Silverman explained.

In addition to acting Cube also put out his latest CD, The Raw Report which is one of the best albums to come out in 2008. So go cop that. No pun intended.
