New York, NY – You know the world has gone digital when people are taking feuds, beef, etc. to Twitter. Honestly, we would never have had this 20 years ago. As you are all well aware, beefs and feuds have been ongoing in Hip-Hop for quite some time now, longer than most of us can remember. However, one of the longest and most dangerous feuds in Hip-Hop was the one between 50 Cent and Ja Rule.
Both Queens’ emcees can trace their feud all the way back to release of ‘Wanksta,’ when 50 was first signed to Shady/Aftermath/Interscope. That initial signing caused a serious chain reaction within the Hip-Hop industry and some still haven’t been able to recover from it. It was like after his signing, 50 was on a warpath to destroy Ja’s career indefinitely. 50 took G-Unit with him as Ja took to Murder Inc. The war between the 50 and Ja eventually hit an all time high when it began involving Eminem and Dr. Dre. The beef continued on for several years, it even got to points of violence and dangerous situations. Until this day, many people are still in bewilderment on how the beef actually started. There have been speculation and assumptions, but only those two know the truth. A lot of people stated that 50 single-handedly destroyed Ja’s entire music career and credibility.
Years later, as seems as though things never change, 50, who has laid dormant for a long time when it came to mentioning anything about Ja, erupted to say the least on March 23, when he ridiculed Ja for pleading guilty on tax evasion via twitter. Ja responded with “I wouldn’t expect anything different from a ho ass nigga like @50cent.”
Recently, Ja Rule was featured on MTV’s RapFix Live and was interviewed by Sway. The former Murder Inc. signee promised Sway that he would no longer trade words with the G-Unit mogul on twitter.
These were his comments:
“Sway, I promise you, he can get on Twitter right now and say, ‘Ja you bitch ass nigga,’ and I’m gonna say, ‘Good for you, young man. I wish you well”
Rule continued on stating that he doesn’t regret the beef with 50, however, he regrets involving people like Dr. Dre, Eminem, The Game, and Lloyd Banks:
“I think a lot of people got wrapped up in my and 50’s whole nonsense, for that, I would’ve done that differently, maybe. My beef was with one dude; I’mma keep it with that dude. I’m not gonna drag in this person and that person.”
Rule confirms that he’s over the beef:
“Those old feelings are gonna bring back more old emotions and more old feelings. It’s not important to me anymore.”
