Jay-Z is now hip-hop’s answer to Elvis. In this week’s Billboard charts, Jigga nabbed the No.1 spot for the tenth time with American Gangster, tying him with The King for the most No. 1 albums behind The Beatles.
American Gangster, the hustler’s diary inspired by the
movie of the same name, sold 425,000 in its first go-around according
to Nielsen’s SoundScan.
Teen phenom Chris Brown debuted at No. 4 this week with his albumExclusive, which sold 294,000 copies. The album includes the singles “Wall to Wall” and “Kiss Kiss” featuring R&B everywhere-man T-Pain.
Also debuting this week was Cassidy, who landed at No. 10 with his album B.A.R.S. (The Barry Adrian Reese Story), which sold 63,000 copies and features heavy production from rapper/producer/Full Surface Records front-man Swizz Beatz.
