On December 30, after reports of failed inspections, Jay-Z‘s Las Vegas 40/40 Club finally opened.
The franchise, located inside the swanky Palazzo hotel on the Las
Vegas strip, opened its doors to a crowded house, including such stars
as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo, as well as such unlikely guests as Al Sharpton and Joe Jackson.
Just a couple of days ago, the club’s slated New Year’s Eve bash was in serious jeopardy, needing certain licenses and certificates by Sunday (Dec. 30). Jay-Z and his partners would have had to refund all opening night
tickets, adding even further expense to a venture that had yet to see
any profits.
The new club features 85 plasma TVs,
five bars, five V.I.P. rooms and a dining area.
