The ever hustling Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z, along with his business partners, has announced that he has sold his 40/40 Club in Las Vegas. Jay opened the club in December of 2007 and has quickly built into one of the tops in the club business.

It is not yet clear who they have sold it to or how much they got but what is clear is that the sale was not the result of some financial difficulties in the club.  “The sale is a great business decision, we are delighted. We look forward to expanding the brand even further to Chicago and Tokyo ,” Jay-Z told reporters in a statement released today. The club has been home to many events and parties of the rich and famous and was even featured in Jay’s “Roc Boys” video.

The club boasts a 24,000 square feet space and has over 200 plasma TV’s. The new owners of the club have only bought the lease of the building though and not the 40/40 name as that is going to be continued to be used by Jay in opening up new clubs. As said above the next spots for the 40/40 are Chicago, Tokyo and Macau.
