According to Jackson spokeswoman Raymone Bain, the embattled pop-icon has also recruited Lenny Kravitz, Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, Ciara, Missy Elliot, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Yolanda Adams, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige, soul veterans the O’Jays for the Katrina relief track. The door is still open for other artists to hop on the record and join the cause.

“Mr. Jackson is continuing to reach out to artists who would like to work with him on this project, which he humbly hopes will make a tremendous difference to all individuals who have been affected by this tragedy,” Bain stated.

Jackson raised over $60 million for African famine relief in the mid 1980s with the chart-topping benefit single, “We Are the World,” which was produced by Quincy Jones and featured Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen and Lionel Richie.

According to Bain, Jackson is soon to return to the U.S. to record the benefit song, tentatively dubbed “From the Bottom of My Heart.”

All proceeds will be donated to hurricane victims.
