Earlier this month Joe Buddens was released from Def Jam contract, 4 years after his only album release in 2003, which went on to be certified Gold. He found himself less then a
priority after changes were made at Def Jam, bringing in L.A. Reid and Sean Carter
(Jay-Z) as president.
So now with Joe Buddens released out of his contact he
can now re-sign to a major or go independent which seem to have worked for Fat
Joe, Styles P (releasing his new album in December) and Jim Jones who has went
on to sign a 50/50 joint venture with the new look Columbia Records which
signed Clipse and their label Re-Up Gang Records last week. Joe Buddens
will be releasing his highly awaited mixtape “Mood Muzik Vol.3” soon and has
recently been in a back & fourth war of words with New Jersey native Ransom
(up and coming artist who was featured in our Next In Line section) who was
in a group called A-Team (Joe Budden, Hitcock, Ransom, and (R.I.P.) Stack
Bundles) with Joe Budden at one time.
The two have put out 2 records each (Ransom
“Kid Brother”, Joe Budden “Heart Of The City”, Ransom “Die Tonight”, Joe Budden
“Ranson Note”) taking shots at one another. The battle seems to bring out the best in Joe Buddens who some
may forgot about and will help Ransom become familiar to some who may never heard of
him. Check out the tracks below to see what all the talk is
about!
