Kanye West performed in Kazakhstan this last past labor day weekend and got paid three million dollars for the venue. The venue was for Aisultan Nazarbayev, the president Nursultan Nazarbayev’s grandson, for his wedding. Kanye performed songs like “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” that have an edgy egotistical style that the Kazakhstan leaders were found of. The concert took place at the Royal Tulip Hotel in the city of Amaty and it was a personal venue with invite only guests.
Kanye West appeared in a black Mercedes onto a red carpet to perform at the luxurious hotel where guests were taking photos with Kanye West as he performed on on his personal sized stage.
The concert paid big bucks most likely because the president of Kazakhstan has a bad reputation for being brutal and abusive towards human rights. He gained that reputation through his brutal police crackdown against striking oil workers in 2011 that left more than 15 citizens killed. Kanye was trying to portray a clean slate after having his daughter with Kim Kardashian but he just couldn’t turn down the money.
Below is a video of him performing at the Royal Tulip Hotel on Saturday August 31st.
