Killer Mike has inked a deal with SMC Recordings, which will distribute the rapper’s Atlanta based label, Grind Time Official. The first release under the deal will be the second installment of Killer Mike’s I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind series.

I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II features appearances by
8Ball & MJG, UKG, Trae and others, while production is handled by
Chaotic Beatz, Heatwave, D Majors, Marvelous J and The Beat Bullies. “If you work hard and grind hard, it will pay off in the end,” Killer Mike said. “I was a worker, now I’m a boss!”

Killer Mike was referring to his time as an artist on other labels. He struck gold with Columbia’s release of his debut album Monster in 2003. After a short stay on Big Boi‘s Purple Ribbon label, the rapper left
to head up Grind Time Official in 2004 and has since released several
projects.

In addition to Killer Mike’s album, Grind Time Official/SMC will
release albums from SL Jones and other artists on the Grind Time
roster. “All we wanna do is release great records by dope and refreshing
artists- Killer Mike and the Grind Time Official artists embody that,”
said SMC CEO Will Bronson. “Needless to say, (Killer) Mike is f**king
perfect to kick 2008 off with!”

The first single from the album is slated to hit radio and the Internet next month.
