Even though Chris Brown has finally spoken his peace on the altercation with him and Rhianna, this situation is far from over! Now apparently it’s the LAPD that’s in hot water. Apparently two female Los Angeles Police Department employees have been accused of leaking Rihanna’s domestic abuse photo without permission and are now being placed on paid leave. There is now a pending investigation currently taking place regarding the situation. E! Online reported on Friday:
“Former housemates Rebecca M. Reyes, a nine-year veteran of the force, and rookie cop Blanca Lopez have both been “assigned to home” while the investigation plays out. Department officials had not filed any charges against Reyes. In addition to being a gross invasion of privacy, profiting by leaking confidential material is also a misdemeanor. Additional criminal charges could also be faced for revealing the identity of a domestic violence victim.”
After LAPD previously stated that legal action would be taken against anyone who had part in the unauthorized released of the photo last February, they are now finally holding up to their word.
“The unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph immediately generated an internal investigation,” a statement reads. “The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence.”
Perhaps it’s just me because getting paid leave while an investigation is taking place is not being reprimanded, it’s called a VACATION! Do you know how long an investigation could take, and it’s pending? Paid leave is all they get for releasing evidence to the public?
Rookie cop Bianca Lopez has yet to make a statement but attorney Ira Salzman spoke on behalf of Rebecca M. Reyes and had this to say according to the LA Times:
“My client did not do anything for financial gain,” she said in a statement. “She did not sell the photo.”
Well if it wasn’t for financial gain then what was it for? I mean if you’re going to lose your job over something as stupid as releasing an unauthorized photo, you might as well get paid for it! I don’t think this Rhianna and Chris Brown thing will ever truly rest. People keep coming up with something new to add to it. We will see what happens to these two ladies. Enjoy your vacation ladies!
Jay-Z Rips The 9/11 Benefit Concert
With a line-up like Diddy, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rhianna, and Mary J Blige; just to name a few; Jay-Z brought the house down with his Answer The Call 9/11 Charity Concert that took place at Madison Square Gardens last night!
Making sure he was patriotic by paying homage to his country, Jay hit “The Star-Spangled Banner” infused with an electric guitar, followed by his own NY anthems and number one singles. The Associated Press reports:
“The Pledge of Allegiance kicked off the show, followed by “The Star-Spangled Banner” infused with an electric guitar. Jay-Z continued with his own
The Washington Post reports:
“On stage at the Garden he told the sold-out house of 18,000: “Let’s not forget in 2001 terrorists attacked
While keeping his focus on the main purpose of the benefit concert, Jay still managed to give the people a plethora of surprise guests which included all Grammy Award winning performers. Neon Limelight reported about this star-studded event saying:
“Pop princess Rihanna joined Jay and Kanye West on stage for their hit single “Run This Town.” This marks Rihanna’s return to performing on the big stage since her highly publicized dispute with Chris Brown. Kanye treated the crowd to some of his very own hits with “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Good Life.” Beyonce also turned up to help her husband in what he called ‘a celebration of life.’ She appeared on stage with several backing dancers and performed her single “Diva.” Others on hand for the big night included John Mayer, who played guitar on Jay-Z’s auto-tune killing buzz cut “D.O.A.,” Mary J Blige, Kid Cudi, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell and Diddy.”
Big ups to Jay for this benefit concert, it was blazing and I’m sure everyone appreciated it. It was a great way to show respect to the families of the victims, to remind everyone about what happen, and let’s not forget; this concert will definitely boost Jay’s sells on the Blueprint 3 which came out yesterday!
