
Jermaine Dupri won Song of the Year for co-writing and producing Mariah Carey‘s "We Belong Together." The song tied with alternative group Green Day’s "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" for the award.
Lil’ Jon was recently named Songwriter of the Year at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Pop Awards. The award marked the third time Jon was recognized by BMI. The king of crunk was acknowledged for penning "Lovers and Friends" featuring Ludacris and Usher, Ciara‘s "Goodies" and Ying Yang Twins’ "Salt Shaker" in 2005.
Meanwhile, Jazze Pha won Internet Song of the Year award for writing Ciara’s "1, 2 Step" while The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am and Pharrell Williams also went home winners.
