Two weeks after rumors surfaced about Lil’ Scrappy, who busted onto the seen with his 2004 hit “No Problems,” and his departure from Warner Brothers Records and Lil’ John’s BME Recordings, fellow Atlanta rapper Ludacris has officially confirmed that Scrappy will be the latest addition to Disturbing Tha Peace. This was confirmed at the “No1 in the South Got Swagga Like Us” concert, which took place on Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Atlanta’s Phillips Arena.  Luda was joined alongside Plies, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, as one of the many headliners of the show.

After this big announcement, Scrappy was brought on stage alongside Luda to perform his 2006 hit single, “Money in the Bank.”

Apparently everyone is very excited about this new addition to DTP. DTP CEO Chaka Zulu, had this to say:

“Its very exciting to partner with an artist like Scrappy,” Chaka told AllHipHop.com. “He has been involved in a major movement in southern Hip-Hop and also has shown he can be an asset as a businessman/ CEO with his G’s Up brand. I am extremely excited about the next moves for Scrappy, as we have signed him to Def Jam. He can stand next to Hip-Hop’s elite and compete. Also he is shooting a movie currently, which will allow his star to continue to get brighter.”

This could be a very good look for both camps, as Scrappy’s label, G’s Up, will join the DTP family as well. I can’t wait to see what happens with this. Hopefully, their creativity will flourish and breed some wonderful Hip-Hop joints.

Flesh-N-Bone Arrested On Gun Possession

Yet again, another rapper has been sent to jail. Allegedly, Flesh-n-Bone of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, was recently arrested last week on gun charges. The rapper was arrested on Thursday, April 2, 2009 in Santa Clarita, California. According to TMZ, police say they discovered a gun in his car and took him into custody for gun possession.

Flesh-n-Bone was arrested yesterday evening in Santa Clarita, Calif. for gun possession. Police say they discovered a gun in Flesh-n-Bone’s car, real name Stanley Howse, and took him into custody for gun possession. According to sheriff’s information, he is being held without bail and is currently still in the slammer. He is due in court on Monday, April 6. (TMZ)

This was allegedly after being examined during a routine traffic stop. How many times have we heard that one before? I’m hoping that maybe all the details haven’t been revealed and this is just some type of big misunderstanding because Flesh has only been a free man for about 8 months, after being sentenced to 11 years in prison for threatening a neighbor with an AK-47 assault rifle back in September of 2000.

Why can’t these rappers just stay out of jail? I don’t understand. Make music, be happy. I know we all are human and things do happen, but is it just me or is this becoming a reoccurring episode amongst the Hip-Hop community? Now everybody wants to carry an unlicensed gun around? I’m getting fed up with these copy-cat crimes. No wonder why we can’t seem to get some quality music, everybody is winding up in jail!

Flesh is due in court later today, April 6, 2009. Let’s hope another rapper doesn’t bite the dust!
