News has been circulating immensely around the industry that the Young Money Millionaire is back in the lab again continuously working on tracks day and day. It seems evident that he isn’t letting the success of his Platinum selling ‘Tha Carter III’ soak in so much. We are all still aware that Lil Wayne is the reigning mixtape king, even though the last official two disc classic mixtape he released was ‘Tha Drought’ back in 07, he still manages to release some interesting mixtape material. Sometime back before the release of his platinum album there was some scrutiny involved when he called out some DJs; however, he later clarified that to the public about certain unnamed DJs that leaked his material, not all. Regardless, the DJs still bump his music and ‘Tha Carter III’ is the perfect example. He recently told MTV that his mixtape hiatus is over as his next plans are to put out the next one with DJ Drama while also making preparations for ‘Tha Carter IV.’

These were the comments he stated about his upcoming projects:

“Tha Carter IV, but you need to be looking for Dedication 3. Me and DJ Drama are going back at it. Gangsta Grillz. I’m showcasing my whole clique, the Young Money family. And three months after that, I got 30 more [songs], and we’re gonna give them away for free — as I always do — on my Website.”

In an email to MTV, just is what Drama had to say about his next project:

“Ladies and gentlemen, we’re sorry to have kept you so hungry, but sometimes it’s better that way. This is not a mixtape, this is an event. Four brands promise to go down in history and combine again: Wayne, Drama, Gangsta Grillz, Dedication 3. Nuff said.”

Weezy continues to omit that he still has artists under his belt that need that exposure:

“My artists, they need to be heard in a proper way. They all could have put out mixtapes, which they all have, but I know what it means when Wayne says, ‘I’m gonna put out a mixtape.’ I know how people perceive it and how people go for it. That’s what it’s for.”

Wayne is using his name to market his artists under Young Money when at the same time it is still new material from Weezy himself. Let’s just hope for their sake that they don’t stay under his shadow forever. It is obviously difficult to outshine him.

At press time, Wayne was just recently on Saturday Night Live last Saturday (Sept. 13) as their musical guest alongside the host Olympic Gold winning Michael Phelps. It is the opener to their 34th season on primetime television. As Phelps introduces him, Wayne respectively performed ‘Got Money’ and ‘Lollipop,’ he even played his guitar live on stage, I guess those guitar lessons from Gym Class Heroes is paying off.
