Every now and then artists who have been on the road for quite some time will some way or another develop what is called ‘Touring Fever.’ It exists in their state of mind, well in Lil Wayne’s case it exists in the fact that he has truly become addicted to being on the road on a regular basis. After the conclusion of his first leg of the ‘I Am Still Music’ tour, Wayne made an official announcement that he’d be commencing another leg of the tour throughout the summer, adding 40 new cities, with a semi-new roster, only keeping Rick Ross on the ballad.

During the taping of his MTV Unplugged segment, Wayne had a chance to sit down and speak with Sway of MTV News about his newfound idea of touring forever.

These were his comments:

“I actually plan on being one of those artists that can go on a tour when they’re like 40, like U2, Michael Jackson.”

“I actually plan on being one of those artists, with all the music and all the work I’m putting out, I believe that later on down the line, I can do Vegas. I can be the first Hip-Hop artist to do Vegas every night. That’s the plan. I plan on touring forever, actually, probably when I’m like 50, I might be like, ‘Let’s go, gimme some dates.’”

With his extensive catalog that he has now, especially with the forthcoming ‘ha Carter IV’ dropping on Auguest 29, there is no reason he can’t do what he states. This past weekend, the Young Money CEO performed at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee alongside many other artists, as of now it seems as though Wayne has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

At press time, Lil Wayne kicks off the second leg of his tour on July 13 in Hartford, Connecticut and doesn’t conclude until September 11 in Woodlands, Texas.
