Lil Wayne seems to do it all these days. He has the biggest selling album of the year, is set to star in a film alongside Forest Whitaker and now he is bringing a new product to his fans, one in which he is very familiar with. When Wayne told us he pops bottles he obviously planned on taking it to another level as he has announced that he is taking his love for the drink one step further by coming out with his own champagne brand.  Wayne, who ever since the tender age of 14 has professed his love for champagne, made the announcement today that he is partnering with French wine growers Voirin-Jumeh to develop Halo Champagne, a brand of champagne that will have four different varieties of  flavors. Wayne says he is getting into the bubbly game mainly because it’s gonna bring in more dollars.   “I’m excited about this venture with Milestone Brands,” Lil Wayne said in a statement. “Champagne is for celebrating. There are so many different business opportunities…I want to take advantage of it all. I’m ready to put my foot in a new door.”

Now when we think of flavored champagne usually the 8 dollar bottles of pink champelle come to mind. That may not be the case with Wayne’s juice though judging by the descriptions given during the announcement and the Voirin-Jumeh’s reputation as a stellar champagne producer. This honestly sounds like some pretty tasty stuff!

First there is Halo Brut, which contains various flavors and a citrus finish, with hints of lemon cream and roasted hazelnut. Then there is the bolder Halo Brut Vintage, which features a classic, creamy consistency and a stronger mix of lemon blossoms and almonds. For those who like a sweeter kiss there is Halo Rose, a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. This rose flavor is supposed to offer an aroma of pomegranate, crushed raspberries, and mint. Finally, Halo Pinnacle is a fruity Chardonnay blend, capped off by hints of lime-tree flower and roasted hazelnuts. Sounds good to me. Anything’s better than the $4.99 bottles of Andre I been dealing with.

Wayne and company didn’t announce when the bottles will be available to pop or the price of them but will give further details as the development of the champagnes nears closer to completion.
