Lil Wayne is just having all the luck. First a new baby boy with actress Lauryn London and now Wayne’s felony drug case has been put on hold until next year. Initially Weezy was granted some additional time to prepare for a hearing.  KXO Radio reports:

“Carter’s motor home had originally been stopped and searched at Dateland, near Yuma. Border Patrol agents reportedly found drugs and weapons in the vehicle. This week, after several delays, Carter was back in court in Yuma, only to be told to come back in October. The attorney for the rapper has requested additional information from the Border Patrol, concerning the search, and the use of K-9’s. The defense attorney is now asking for an evidence list from the scene. The judge granted the defense requests, delaying the trial once again.”

According to New Little Wayne, this case has been postponed until 2010. This is largely due to the fact that the Yuma County  office does not do misdemeanor plea deals on cases like this.

“Lil Wayne will go on trial next March on felony drug possession and weapons charges he faces in Yuma County, Arizona. The trial date was set during a court hearing in Yuma on Thursday, it will take place at 1:30 p.m. March 30, 2010. A final trial management conference will also be scheduled by written court order and take place about two weeks before the trial. Chief criminal Yuma County Attorney Roger Nelson says his office doesn’t offer misdemeanor plea deals on such cases and that’s probably one of the reasons why the case hasn’t been resolved.”

Well Weezy has finally gotten what he wanted. He will be due back in court on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Lil Wayne has yet to comment on this case.

Speaking with radio personality Egypt, Jay – Z has also made a touching statement regarding Mr. Magic, stating that we have truly lost one of our Hip-Hop pioneers. WBLS reports:
“I’m a kid from the first generation of people that was listening to hip-hop and all we had was the radio,” Hov explained in a phone interview. “We had to wait up. It wasn’t like it is now. He’s one of the pioneers that brought it to where it is now. We used to have to wait by the radio and it’d come on an hour. Mr. Magic was just one of the first people there, the pioneers that made it is what it is today…My condolences and respects to his family. And to all the hip-hop generations, we lost one of our pioneers.”
