MIAMI — Lil Wayne is a man of many words when it comes to his rhymes, but the superstar MC was short and to the point when describing how he’s moving on past his experience in prison the past eight months.
“I forgot about yesterday,” Wayne told MTV News exclusively on the red carpet of his “Welcome Home Tunechi” party in downtown Miami on Sunday night (November 7).
The comments were the first the rapper has made in public since his release on Thursday day (November 4).
The rapper was accompanied by his label head, Bryan “Baby” Williams, and a bevy of beautiful women as the recently freed Weezy walked the red carpet.
Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Cool & Dre, Fat Joe and more helped celebrate Wayne’s freedom during the late night fete.
The night before, on Saturday, Wayne surprised fans and Drake by appearing on stage next to his protege during Drake’s last tour stop in Las Vegas for his Light Dreams and Nightmares jaunt.
“It’s unexplainable,” Wayne said of returning to the stage. “Words can’t explain. I’m good with words and I can’t explain.”
Since his release, Lil Wanye has reported to Arizona where he finalized his unsupervised release stemming from a separate case.
The next day, on Friday (November 4), Weezy was spotted attending a New Orleans Hornets/Miami Heat game in his hometown of New Orleans.
On Friday (November 6), Wayne jetted to Las Vegas to make a cameo appearance during Drake’s set, joining the Toronto star for their collaborative cut “Miss Me.”
Before Wayne partied, he took a moment to reflect on all the support he received during his jail stint.
“I just wanna thank everybody,” he said. “Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.” MIAMI — Lil Wayne is a man of many words when it comes to his rhymes, but the superstar MC was short and to the point when describing how he’s moving on past his experience in prison the past eight months.
