We are already quite aware that spring is in the air, especially with all the parties and events that are going on around the city. Spring break for many people is literally a chance to break free and escape reality for a couple days and just have fun in the sun. MTV has always been big on spring break. Annually they pick different cities where the network would launch and host a grand event for the occasion, making it a haven for promoters within that area, because artists will flock there from all over. One artist in particular is Chi-Town emcee, Lupe Fiasco.

This year, MTV marked their territory in sin city. Las Vegas became their playground for a plethora of musical events that took place over the weekend. MTV Spring Break 2011’s lineup included: Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, and Pitbull.

Lupe recently spoke with Sway of MTV News and explained to him his outlook on performing for fans, no matter the condition.

These were his comments:

“It’s no different, I did a show for the hardcore [fans] yesterday and it was the same thing, the same energy. At the end of the day, it’s about getting in touch with the energy — I don’t want to sound too mystical — but that human energy. It don’t matter if you black, white, Italian, Asian or in a bikini or have a fitted hat on thugged out, everybody wants to hear something and be moved by something, so for us, we want to take it to you as energetic as we possibly can.”

Still reaping off his tremendous sales reach with his new album ‘Lasers,’ Lupe has been quite busy performing in different venues left and right while those sales numbers continue to climb. Lupe even released upcoming tour dates in support of his new album, talk about hard work.

Tune in to MTV on Tuesday night (March 29) at 9:50 pm to watch Lupe’s performance during MTV Spring Break in Las Vegas.
