New York, NY – ‘Tha Carter IV’ is a title that can carry its own weight. Quite possibly the most anticipated album of 2011, as of right now, fans are impatiently waiting for the arrival. And as we are all quite aware, the album itself will basically runs its course of leaking, releasing, and eventually going platinum with the first week’s sales.

So starts the timeline, Wayne initially announced the first release date of ‘Tha Carter IV’ to be May 16th, literally putting fans on the verge that the date was so close. Now, news circulated through the media that the album would pushed back to June with a disclosed date, giving fans a sense of early disappointment. Thanks to MTV News, we now know the new date to be June 21st.

Young Money President, Mack Maine recently spoke to MTV News about the forthcoming album and provided a lot of insight. According to Maine, the reason behind the push back was because Wayne requested more time to make additional amendments to the albums:

“He’s still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist … changing a few lines. We also have a huge record that wasn’t done yet. We’re in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday.”

Tha Carter III had an amazing lineup between artists and producers The artists Wayne chose to feature on the album included: Jay-Z, T-Pain and Robin Thicke. The forth installment is expected to have artists on the same level, as a matter of fact this is one of the reasons causing ‘Tha Cater IV’s’ delay:

“If you calculate all of that, by the time we would’ve finished mixing, we wouldn’t have met the [original] due date to turn in the album, so we had to push it back.”

So continuing with the timeline, earlier this week, a possible to maybe bogus tracklisting for ‘Tha Carter IV’ leaked online, a day later, the cover art is leaked, or for lack of a better work, unveiled. Whichever way you look at it, nothing was official until representatives from Young Money made it official. The cover art as of now is official, the tracklisting, however, isn’t.

Mack Maine added comments on both leaks giving the fans better knowledge.

As far as the confirmation of the tracklisting:

“I’m pretty sure it can’t be all the way accurate, because I don’t even have all the features back on some of it, and two [of the] songs haven’t been done yet.”

However, Maine did confirm the cover art was official:

“The same day it leaked out, we had just approved the cover that morning. Soon as we approved it, it leaked out within two hours.”

With that short span of time, it just goes to show how fans really looking forward to this album’s release.

Before Maine closed out his brief interview with MTV News, he provided the fans with a tease into the upcoming single for the album. He states that it is along the lines of 2008’s smash single ‘Lollipop’ that featured the late Static Major:

“It’s more along the lines of a ‘Lollipop,’ people call [them] crossover records and all of that, but [it will be] just one of those [records] that will be liked by the masses.”

At press time, the official release date for ‘Tha Carter IV,’ until it changes again, has been set for June 21.
