In early years of Mike WiLL Made It was known to be athletic as a teenager and had dreams of becoming a professional athlete, but later on Mike WiLL Made It traded his gym shoes for Casio brand keyboard when he developed a talent replaying music he heard on the radio, like “Still fly” by Big Tymers and “Young’n (holla back) by Fabulous. At 14 years old Mike WiLL made it began making beats on his Korg ES1 beat machine, which his father bought him for Christmas. As Mike WiLL music production progressed in music production, he advanced in the use of music production equipment. Such as, Korg Triton, Akai MPC1000, Yamaha Motif and Roland Fantom. In 2008 Mike WiLL began producing with 2 Chainz, who was then known as “Tity Boi. Mike WiLL recieved his recognition when Gucci Mane was the first to rap on his beat, he mentioned in a 2011 interview with XXL Magazine
In 2011, released his first single, “Tupac Back”. Performed by Meek Mill and Rick Ross, ftom the “Self Mad, Vol.1 Compilation album.Then in December 2011 Mike WiLL Made it released his first mixtape “Est. In 1989 (Last of a Dying Breed)” which featured, Gucci Mane, 1017 Brick Squad, Future, Waka Flocka Flame, Kanye West & Good Music, 2 Chain. That is just to new a few. In March 2012 Mike WiLL partnered with popular music site The Faders and announced his second installment of “Est. In1989 Pt.2” and released his first single “Back 2 the Basics”.
For the remainder of 2012 Mike WiLL Made It continously produced big hits like, “Bandz a Make Her Dance featuring Juicy J, and”Mercy”vocal provided by Kanye West, Big Sean, 2 Chaniz, and Pusha T. All at the same dropping one more mixtape, Est. 1989 Pt. 2.5.
In 2013 Mike WiLL Made It revealed he has signed to Interscope Records to release his debut album. In the midst of producing all of these hits Mike WiLL Made It found the time to drop his 4th mixtape #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL on Dec 23, 2013. Like his “Est. In 1989, the compliation is filled with new and familiar songs, which were all produced by the Atlanta Native, Mike WiLL Made It himself. The mixtape serves a platform for partner Future to host on the tracks. Songs like “Beach is Better”, by Jay Z and 2 Chainz “Fork” are among previously heard songs. Not only the, the 25 track mixtape is jammed pack with artists like Juciy J, Migos, Big Sean, Two-9, Project Pat, and many other guest appearance. Just listening to the mixtape in my opinion I cant help to put several songs on repeat.
