New York, NY – After Prodigy was released from prison some time ago, things have been going in Mobb Deep’s favor for the past month. Besides recording with Havoc in the studio, Prodigy is also promoting his book ‘My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy.’ Now according to the other half of Mobb Deep, Havoc states that fans will get a full independent album by the summer, however without the assistance of G-Unit since they parted ways.
Havoc recently spoke to MTV News about the situation with G-Unit Records.
These were his comments:
“I feel that we’ve been in the business long enough to totally know what to do. The whole thing right now is to really capitalize on our talent and what we do instead of having all these major labels take, take, take. We might as well reap the rewards of our success.
Sometimes you have to man up and do you your own thing, we can do this. We’ve been in the game for years, so it’s like, ‘Let’s do it. The time is now.’”
At press time, Havoc states that they plan on releasing a 10 track EP entitled simply Mobb Deep sometime in August. It will be the first full length album to feature Prodigy after his release from prison in March.
