The NCAA hit Penn State with one of the stiffest penalties in college history,the punishment was as severe as the death penalty.In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal the school has been handed a severe blow to the program.

Here is how the penalties are laid out:

  • $60 million in fines
  • 4 year football postseason ban
  • all wins from 1998 – 2011 vacated totaling 112
  • the loss of 20 scholarships per year over four years and five years’ probation.

The NCAA also said that any current or incoming football players are free to immediately transfer and compete at another school.

 The FBI said  Director Louis Freeh said that Penn State officials kept what they knew from police and other authorities for years, enabling the abuse to go on.
Jerry Sandusky was a defensive coordinator was found guilty in june of sexual abuse on young boys while and after he was coaching for the university .
The school is trying hard to remove any image of Papa Joe from the campus starting with his life style statue that was taken down as well as removing his name from countless awards and buildings around the campus
