New York, NY – Predominantly the most artistic R&B vocalist and songwriter to practically take the charts by storm is finally ready to release his third studio LP. Ne-Yo has had a lot on his plate this past couple of years, not only has he released two albums in those years, he’s also written several chart toppers and album cuts for several different artists in the game today. According to the vivid songwriter, his next album is slated to contain different themes and genres all blended into one.

Ne-Yo recently spoke to MTV News concerning his upcoming album and gave the fans his motives on the variations he’s added to ‘The Year of the Gentleman’ to stir a different flavor into his already unique style. These were the comments as told to MTV.

“It’s a little bit of alternative, a little bit of pop, a little bit of rock. I basically stepped outside of my comfort zone and I came up with something that I can honestly say is for everyone. This album is about diversity, I think that one of the emphases will be that a gentleman is diverse.”

He continued to add the different production teams he incorporated into his upcoming album, with one new addition that he has yet to work with, but is excited about the collaboration.

“I worked with all the normal people that I work with — [like] Stargate, but J.R. Rotem is one of the newer cats that I’ve worked with.”

Even with all the different themes he’s included into his next anticipated LP; two interesting separate entities he’s included into his album are the talents of lead singer Patrick Stump of famed Alternative Rock group Fall Out Boy and astonishingly the brilliant works of the one and only Michael Jackson. MJ was so amazed with his performance on the track ‘Nobody,’ Ne-Yo recalls what was said to him back in June.

“He told me that he likes the way I do Michael Jackson. I asked him what he meant by that, and he said, ‘When you do that, it doesn’t feel like you’re trying to copy me or trying to be me. It feels like you’re complimenting me.’ And that’s what I’m doing. It means the world that he liked it.”

At press time, his album ‘The Year of the Gentleman,’ is slated to officially be released on September 16, 2008. Upon or before the initial release, 24hourhiphop.com will provide an exclusive review on the album respectively. Be on the lookout for that.
