Rapper Nelly has teamed with a Missouri college to open a new recording school. Nelly and Vatterott College are opening up an advanced recording studio in the same building that used to house Nelly’s restaurant, Skybox.

The name of the recording school is titled Ex’treme Institute by Nelly.

“We’re not just building the most advance recording studio St. Louis has ever seen, but we’re helping students learn recording and production the old fashion way, hands on,” Nelly said in a promo video.

The rapper told local news Channel 5 in St. Louis that the program has already been approved by Missouri’s Department of Education, so that students can pursue their education about recording and engineering.

Recording school is scheduled to open this October.
