New York, NY – The pop sensation, Britney Spears, seems to getting widespread media coverage quite a lot lately since the release of her seventh studio album ‘Femme Fatale,’ the album that was released no longer than a week and a half ago has become number 1 on the charts. Recently, it was reported, however first rumored, that Spears had reached out to a certain Young Money femcee to appear on tour with her. Nicki Minaj and her representatives confirmed over the weekend that negotiations have yet to be finalized, however she is considering. Now, reporting within the same circle, Rihanna has reached out to Spears to pin her for a remix to the S&M hit, a remix single that has officially dropped today (Monday, April 11).

Rihanna was quite enthused about the recent recording that she immediately phoned into New York’s Z-100 morning show with ‘Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo’ to discuss Spears on the exclusive track.

These were her comments:

“At first, we didn’t know what the song was going to do because of the lyrics, but it became really big on radio and its #1 at Pop this week. In order to do a remix, it had to be major. I asked my fans last week who they wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney was one of the most popular names.”

As a matter of fact, Rihanna really surveyed her fans about who they wanted to appear on the track and low and behold, 4.4 million of her Twitter followers requested the pop princess Britney Spears. Somehow, Rihanna and the executives over at Def Jam locked in Spears and the fans got what they asked for. Interestingly enough though, Spears rarely does any features for other people, so this was actually something special:

“It’s very strange: Britney never does features. It was really amazing that she really wanted to be part of this song. She really liked the song to begin with, but it was a different story when she had to sing it, and she really wanted to be a part of it. It made it really special, because you never see two pop female artists doing songs together anymore. Just call us ‘R&B.’”
