Nicki Minaj plans sophomore LP this fall, the follow-up to 2010’s Pink Friday. The rapper is keeping most of the album details in wraps, but does say that one of her personas will play a big part on the LP.
“I don’t know, I don’t think I’m hitting up anybody for features for this sophomore album,” she told us backstage at the Femme Fatale Tour. She added that the vibe will be decided by the one and only “Roman … possibly. But I never give away all my secrets.”
Earlier this year, Nicki teased an album announcement for September, and when she sat down on “Good Morning America” last week, she said she was going big on her next album. “My best work is ahead of me, not behind me. Stay tuned,” she explained. “As soon as I get off this tour [which wraps this month], I’m headed to L.A. to work on this sophomore album and it’s gonna be epic.”
In a chat with MTV News back in March, Minaj was keeping details on the hush for the highly anticipated release. “I can give you an idea,” she said. “But I don’t want to. I’d rather not right now. Because then everybody is gonna jump on the bandwagon and say they’re putting out their album the same day.”
