There are rallies all over the US for a young man who had to leave early but left the wrong way. Trayvon Martin has rallies from Washington, Las Angeles, Miami, New York and many other places. Since they trial is over the rallies have gotten bigger and now they (Al Sharpton and others) have made a foundation called the Trayvon Martin Foundation. Well in lower Manhattan on July, 20 2013 Trayvon’s mother along with Al Sharpton, Beyoncẽ and Jay Z by her side joined in one of the nationwide rallies pleading for justice.
Both Sharpton and Martin’s mom Sybrina Fulton spoke at the rally both about the fact a child was killed and he didn’t do anything Fulton said “Trayvon was no burglar, George Zimmerman started the fight, and George Zimmerman ended the fight. My son died without knowing who killed him. He died without knowing who his murderer was. Many protestors wore hoodies, had skittles in their hand, they even had an outline of martin’s body with skittles and an empty can in his hand.
This case covered the whole nation and has outraged many because of this racial profiling, and also drew an emotional response from the President saying “Trayvon Martin could’ve been him 35 years ago”. Hopefully these protesting start a change that will Trayvon’s at peace and any other person who has been killed or hurt because of racial profiling.
