Dallas Mavericks Triumphs over the Miami Heat
Miami, FL – Last night (June 12) was Game 6 of the NBA Championships between two rival teams, the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks. For Miami, it was Do or Die, after losing twice in Dallas with Game 4 and 5, Miami had to definitely up their game when the series returned to Miami for Game 6. For Dallas, it was one more game for their first win ever in history. Both teams came prepared and ready for a physically and mentally challenging face off, but in the end, the team that wanted it more came out the victor.
Before the NBA Finals even commenced, people were already saying that the Mavericks were a team filled with old grunted veterans, while Miami came with young and fresh faces, even with Dwyane Wade who brought us to the championships in 2006 against the same team. People can talk, but apparently the Mavericks proved to the masses that old or not, 6 games in, they triumphed over the Big 3.
From the beginning of the game, LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and even Chalmers and Haslem came in strong and provided a toe to toe back and for challenge for Nowitzki, Terry, Stevenson, Kidd, and interestingly enough, Barea. It was obvious from the beginning that both teams had major players amongst their ranks, even with the names I mentioned, between scoring points, assists, and rebounds, every single person on both sides provided a major part with each basket back and forth. Interestingly enough, Nowitzki didn’t really come alive until the 4th quarter, nevertheless, when one teammate is stagnate, another jumps in to play, and for Jason Terry, he did just that, during the second half of the game, Terry three pointers were definitely on point as he managed to collect 27 points throughout the entire game. Even with a brief mid-game scuffle between Stevenson, Chalmers, and Haslem, it just goes to show how physical the game was for both teams.
Throughout the whole game, the Heat missed an upsetting 13 free throws and gave away 16 turnovers. Even with LeBron collecting 21 points throughout the entire game, Haslem with 9, and Chalmers coming right behind with 10, that still wasn’t enough to gain another win to force Game 7.
In the end, the Mavericks beat the Heat 105 to 95, making them the 2011 NBA Champions.
My thoughts are as is, I mean you saw Bosh leaving the arena crying, can you blame him? The Heat came wanting another championship, number 2 for Wade, but the first for both Lebron and Bosh. The hardest thing was, they lost in Miami in front of all the Heat fans. To come all this way and lose like that is real upsetting for fans, but more for the players. Like all of the Heat fans, I was seriously looking forward to a Game 7.
Wiz Khalifa Dismisses Rumors of Waka Flocka Beef
Manchester, TN – As Wiz Khalifa continues to push his fame and his music to totally different levels, we must admit, now Khalifa is literally in a league of his own. Now with his recent album under his belt, he takes it around the world. This past Saturday, Khalifa performed live at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. According to his own admission, it is probably the biggest show that he’s ever done especially by the crowd’s immediate reaction to a slew of his hits.
After his grand performance, MTV News just so happened to be backstage waiting for a brief interview from the Pittsburgh emcee about the pivotal performance.
These were his comments:
“I was feeling the energy the whole time, and I’ve been doing a lot of shows and growing as a performer and an artist, so I just wanted to build on all that. Being a top act on such a huge stage in front of so many people, it’s a great starting point for my career, because a lot of people work their whole careers and then get here.”
Though he was still excited and confident of the conclusion of his Bonnaroo set, Khalifa felt the need to address an issue that “supposedly” occurred at another event. It seems as though rumors of a backstage altercation with an ATL emcee, Waka Flocka Flame at Hot 97’s Summer Jam in New York earlier this month hit the net, the media, and had many people questioning what really happened. This was the same event where a video leaked showcasing Flocka apparently dissing Jeezy while he was onstage.
Khalifa clarified the situation:
“Yeah, nothing happened backstage, it’s always something; making up some rumor about something happening with me backstage during somebody’s set, but nothing happened. Me and Waka and are cool. That’s just people trying to promote negativity.”
Khalifa then concluded with these comments about people stirring beef and negativity. He even went in and clarified that the Rolex he is wearing is actually his and that he bought it, regardless of what other people may say:
“There’s just so much fake sh– going on. Like, people will buy into what’s fake. According to people, this isn’t my Rolex, you know? But that’s just what mugs like to think and what they like to talk about, but the reality of the situation is everything’s under control. And this is my Rolex. That I bought.”
Beef or not, Wiz should know that’s just part of the game. People stir up controversy just to add fuel to the flame. And to honest, that Rolex watch does look quite familiar to the one that Kanye was wearing earlier in the year, but I could be wrong.
