Drawing Close to T.I.’s Final Days

Atlanta, GA – It was inevitable that the day would come that Bankhead native T.I. would have to face his redemption. Even after the court allowed him additional time before he would have to turn himself in, the days are drawing close. His one year and a day sentence stemmed from taking a plea bargain on weapons charges that he concurred in 2007. However, before he was to be sentenced by a judge, there were additional requirements he would have to complete before the judgment could take place. In May of 2008, the court ordered him to pay a fine of $100,000 and complete 500 hours of community service.

It was revealed on Friday (May 15) that he would be reporting to federal prison on May 26 in the state of Arkansas. According to The Associated Press, court documents showcases that TIP has until noon that day to report to the Forrest City low-security federal prison. Even though T.I. and his legal team requested that he be placed in a facility close to home, the request, unfortunately, couldn’t be granted. Immediately following his sentencing in March, he had a press conference explaining to the media his thoughts on the way it all came about.

These were his comments:

“Although I am not thrilled about my next year and a day, I am pleased that I am beginning the process of putting this all behind me. Thank you and I apologize to my family, to the young men, young women that I mentor. I hope that I can keep at least one, if not a million or more, from going down a similar path. I just want to say thank you.”

In related news, T.I.’s recent release, Paper Trail, has sold over 1.9 million copies, certifying him platinum by the RIAA. At one point in time, T.I., Grand Hustle, and Atlantic planned on re-releasing ‘Paper Trail’ with new tracks. That album release has yet to be confirmed.

While behind bars, I’m quite sure that he wouldn’t waste time and get to writing his lyrics for his seventh album that we will all be waiting for upon his release, which I’m almost positive will be sooner than later. Keep your head up and stay focused.

Jadakiss Discusses Latest Single and Next Album

New York, NY – It seems as though Eminem isn’t the only one that plans on releasing another album at the end of the year, Jadakiss has his sights on following the same idea. As a matter of fact, he already put together his plans for the mark up of the album, especially with production and title.

During an interview with MTV News, the Yonkers native expressed the completion of the D-Block album, the LOX album, and the next idea on his own upcoming album. These were his comments:

“I’m definitely going back in. The D-Block album is wrapped up. I’mma make sure we finish this LOX album, and I’m coming right back at the end of the year. I think I’m gonna call it Top Five, Dead or Alive. I’m only gonna work with Primo [DJ Premier], Alchemist, Swizz Beatz, Dame Grease, shit like that. Have a couple of South [producers], and that’s it. Wham!”

Even though he is already focused on his next album, the recent album ‘The Last Kiss’ is still in high praise after just shooting the video for his recent single ‘Who’s Real?’ His next endeavor will be the awaited release of his next single ‘Smoking Gun’ which features the vocal talents of Jazmine Sullivan, he seems very excited about.

“Jazmine is gonna clean me up real good. I already got shit lined up in ‘Essence’ and ‘Sister 2 Sister,’ that’s a big joint. In Texas and out West, they spinning it real heavy. We gonna be all right with that one.”

Before MTV closed out their interview, they inquired about DMX, who was just released from an Arizona jail, and what his thoughts were about that.

“That’s my big homie, I just wanna give him a hug, sit down and kick it with him.”

The remix to ‘Who’s Real?’ has been on Jada’s mind for some time now as he already is requesting Cam’ron and Kanye West to jump on the track. His tour with Cam launches within the upcoming month.

I must admit, Jada’s last album was a banger. Every time he drops an album it becomes an instant hit for the time being. I’m actually interested in seeing what him and Cam have in store between them as they’ve been collaborating on a few tracks together.

Video of Eminem on the Jimmy Kimmel Show

New York, NY – The Shady one himself was just recently on the populated Jimmy Kimmel Show. Long time friends, both Kimmel and Em have been, since they collaborated on the once most watched Crank Yankers show on Comedy Central. What better than for Kimmel to have Eminem grace his show to promote the release of his latest album ‘Relapse.’ Shady appeared on the show with non-bleached hair and a more comedic attitude since overcoming his sleeping pill addiction.

Here is the entire 10 minute interview between Jimmy Kimmel and Eminem:
